Jd robertson model used a tem microscope and saw two lines which he presumed were protein coats. It was actually oso4 so he was wrong. But, from this experiment he suggested that the extracellular side had glycoprotein and the intracellular side was not heavily glycosylated. Wbcs= prefer water phase and have more proteins in cell membrane. ^ dan branton- performed freeze fracture on rbcs and saw bumps on cell. Performed freeze fracture on liposome (delivery molecule) and there were no bumps.
