Diagnosis reveal: finding wife in shower with history teacher, led to major manic episode, prior delusion of wife and history teacher plotting against him. Manifestation of symptoms: decreased need for sleep, unusual talkativeness/rapid speech, racing thoughts, increase in goal directed activity, inflated self-esteem or grandiosity, flight of ideas and subjective experiences. Medication compliance plays an essential role in the treatment of bipolar disorder, especially mood stabilizers. Other medications that may be prescribed are anti-psychotics and anti-depressants.
