Mitochondria formed by engulfed prokaryotes but isnt necessary. Mito and chloro have own genomes and grow indep. Endomembrane system: set of intracellular organelles interconnected by vesicular traffic. Ex: acid hydrolases are sysntehsized in er, processed in golgi, shipped to lysosome. Vesicular transport: membrane structres bud off and fuse with others. Donor compartment: bud: vesicle: fuse: target compartment. Lipid bilayer is fluid and can intramix.
