PR 680 Lecture 43: Preparing for in depth interviews
Document Summary
How do we implement in depth interviews well and make sure that we get the most of the conversations we have with people. The first thing we need to do is prepare extensively. There is a balance between the order of the questions you ask and how quickly you get to the questions that matter the most for your research. If you"re not doing research that is deeply personal, you can go ahead and get to those things faster. This also depends on your research and agenda. So you prepare and practice your questions according to timing and order, but you also think about preparing such so you don"t have to be reading during the interview. The best kind of interview you can do is one you can literally do off the top of your head and in your mind.
