When a lot of people think about what conflict is, they normally focus on this stage- behavior. This is because this is where you can visibly see conflict. This is usually shown as overt attempts to put their own intentions in. When there are unskilled enactments or miscalculations, overt behaviors can move away from the initial and original intention. At the lower end of the continuum, there are conflicts characterized by forms of tension that are: Conflict intensities escalate when they go up the line until they are very destructive. Conflicts that reach this level are almost always considered dysfunctional. Functional conflicts are normally seen majority of the time on the lower end of the continuum. Conflict that brings in intentions eventually turn into behaviors. Competing brings out active attempts to resist members of a team, and more effort individually to achieve an outcome without working with the group.
