4 views2 pages

Document Summary

Teams that perform better on a consistent basis have more of a clear sense of what needs to be done and how to do it. This might be obvious, but a lot of teams ignore this fundamental process. Members of successful teams put a lot of time and effort into: When this common purpose is accepted by a team, it gives direction and guidance under any sort of conditions that come up. Teams should agree on what their purpose is, being whether to learn about a task and master it or just to perform the task at hand. Differing team perspectives on learning and performance lead teams to lower overall performance levels. Teams emphasizing learning will agree more on common goals, and identification with a team is easier when its members identify strongly with the team. Reflexivity is shown through effective teams, which means the team reflects on and adjust the team"s purpose when needed.
