Metrics based on the importance and the availability is the end of a very long journey that starts from vision to metrics. Vision mission goal strategy tactic metrics. We have to be very specific and concrete about our missions and our goals to have some evidence-based culture. The problem arises when you are not defining missions, goals, or all the detectors narrowly, which means you can select the wrong metrics. The broader you are, the more metrics may apply to your tactic which trickles back to your mission. For each goal, you could have multiple strategies. For each strategy, you could also have multiple tactics. The first tactic is narrowly defined and it"s only related to one metric. You need to map out your goals and tactics all the way to your metrics to understand how to measure your goal and mission.
