An important thing for media sociology is to find the self-evident news values and show the doxic news values in the practice of journalism. News ethnography is a key method for studying the norms and processes guiding producers and production of news. Using bourdieu to analyze journalistic practice and news values. Journalistic practice is a daily challenge with little routine work in its practice. Each day, there is completely different stories and experiences from the day before. For most journalists, there isn"t a normal day in news work. You never know what you"re going to get each day when you walk in. For the ethnographer observing work in news, this isn"t true. News work is highly routinized and follows daily patterns that you can see every day.
