A loose definition of fanfiction is someone retelling a story from characters drawn from content in mass media. Another definition of fan fiction sees it as any creative writing based on a portion of pop culture and not produced as a form of professional writing. This is a way for fans to interact with literature they feel connected to. Fan fiction has a lot of distinct characteristics that make it fan fiction. First, fandom is a personas connection to a certain text in a more personal way. This emotional attachment comes from relationships they for to something in the text where value comes from using it and generating from value within the person"s eyes. While one individual might interact with a text just by reading it or watching it, fans try to nurture their relationships with text to form a deeper connection through fan practices and creating fan fiction.
