4 views3 pages

Document Summary

A lot of people have been talking about the america invents act and how big of a change it is. Until recently, the one who was given rights to an invention was the one who was first to invent it in the us. Now, it is the first person to file who has the rights to the thing they invented, which is a big shift. This means that if you"re an inventor and you"re trying to keep it a secret while keeping track of it, you can"t wait until you"re at a certain point in inventing it to file for your patent. You could wait years in certain cases and still be the person with the priority of what you had invented. You could prove it with lab materials and notebooks that you had created something years ago. With this, while inventing and filing for other patents, you could reach back to the earliest invention to determine your priority date.
