The king works closely with nobles and the church. Estates general (1614-1788)- an advisory body made up of representatives all over france. They le the king know what the people want/need. They have very little power and only meet when the king says so. Over a hundred years a meeting wasn"t called. Louis 14th- (1643-1715)- becomes a king as a child. I am the state to maintain his power, he suppresses non-catholic faiths to gain the church"s support.
