Northumbrian renaissance- england- 7th century- dating system-lindisfarne gospels book- Carolingian renaissance- 9th- charlemagne"s kingdom- increased interest in scholars- ancient roman knowledge. 12th- century renaissance- starts the university"s- best known thinkers. Why now?- a lot of questioning, turmoil, and change- a greater access to education. More men can attend colleges- there are scholarships available- dorms for men with scholarships. Women have access to education, but can not go to universities.
