Latifundia: huge farm owned by a single person/family. No individual can own more than 1000 acres of land. Senate sends out assassins to kill gracchus brothers. Agree not to speak anymore or be killed. Limits size of latifundia, builds roads, aqueducts. Uses position to make his power worth while. Killing of caesar symbolizes how willing they are to kill anyone in their way. Pompey & julius caesar of this triumvirate. Purge: way to get rid of political enemies. Ex: pompey & crassus tried to purge themselves of julius caesar. Belief that mosaic law is too precise. Believe that people should be practicing morality. Morality: what you do when no one is looking. Telling the truth, doing the right thing, helping one another. Tells of an extremist group within the jewish society. Incredible idea that someone will come to earth & guide them through. Believe that jews in palestine should be an independent state from rome.
