Law enforcement has come under deep scrutiny from lack of trust amongst police members and the community. The law enforcement in kansas has been working on new ways of policing to fix the problem. The west side community in kansas was deeply burdened with high volume crime. Many businesses relocated and most of the criminals were undocumented criminals. There was a zero tolerance policy and he community was policed fiercely. Many hard working community members got caught up in this sweep, which was originally meant to discourage the criminals. Because of their work, some community workers started to see them as the enemy. One person asked this police officer if he realized it wasn"t working, and the police officer replied yes, but this is what we do. It was this police officers narrow mindedness that encouraged community members to complain more and cooperate less.
