Binder-a paint is the substance used to hold together (bind) the pigment, to transform the dry granules of pigment into the paste we know as paint. Brush-an implement consisting of bristles, hair, or the like, set in or attached to a handle, used for painting, cleaning, polishing, grooming, etc. Palette knife-a blunt tool used for mixing or applying paint, with a flexible steel blade. It is primarily used for mixing paint colors, paste, etc. , or for marbling, decorative endpapers, etc. Buon fresco-a fresco painting technique in which alkaline-resistant pigments, ground in water, are applied to wet plaster.
