Weimar republic=germany in 1933, interwar period: period between wwi and wwi. Authoritarian rule was built on top of democracy. After wwi, the german people were anxious about germany"s future due to the war-guilt clause. Germany was blamed for war, must pay retribution, and cut back their army. John maynard keynes wrote the economic consequences of the peace(1919): predicted that. Germany"s high retribution payment will create economic havoc to their economy and the global economy. German war veterans were extremely resentful toward the treaty of versailles. Ernst junger: wrote fire(1925) expressing his love for war and wishes to ght again in a battle like. Adolf hitler: also a war veteran who hated the treaty of versailles. Fought at the front in wwi and wished to experience another war. In 1919, he joined an organization called the german workers. He later helped change the name into the nationalist socialist party aka the nazi party in 1920.
