Document Summary

Binaural disparity: differences in sound across the ears used to located objects in space. Movement of the head helps with hearing. Azimuth: bearing system where straight ahead is always 0 . Two sources of information across the ears: Sound coming from directly in front (0 ) hits both ears at the same intensity / no intensity difference. Sound coming from directly behind (180 ) hits both ears at the same intensity / no intensity difference. Sound coming from 30 to the right head serves as a barrier / greater intensity to the right ear. Sound coming from 90 to the right head is the greatest barrier / maximum intensity differences. Sound coming from 150 to the right head serves as a barrier / greater intensity to the right ear. Intensity difference effect depends on frequency works with high frequency sounds, but not low frequencies. At 0 no time difference / compression waves hit the ear at the same time.
