In south korea 2005, this girl on the subway had a small dog who pooped on the floor. She refused to clean it up and a video was taken. It hit the news and her private information was leaked. Angry mobs would gather and march to the suspect"s place of residence and usually execute that person. It doesn"t just disseminate information but it also establishes reputations. Has been present in all human society. Gossip is a way to expose people"s infringements of norms. Ways to ensure community conformity to the norms: historically, it was a way to keep people in line ex; a mother who is 30 and gives birth is labelled as an elderly other - Knowing reputations is prerequisite to trusting strangers. A man who was the same in both public and intimate life would be a monster. He would be without spontaneity in his private life and without responsibility in his public life .
