A mother is a person who, seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. Good father would work, and provide support and safety to his family: the ideology of (white, middle-class, heterosexual) motherhood. Mother: nurturing and caring, cant pursue personal interests, onus on mother to continue contact between child and father. Father: the provider, protector and the super dad : weddings, gender, and heteronormativity. Unfit mother is a term you hear, not heard of being an unfit father . Fathering a child is very diff term mother and father. Ideology assumed to be timeless, and universal. Ideology is defined as idea that only by having a child can a woman actualize her true potential realize her ultimate need in her life.
