We are not a society with a market but the market is the entire society. Did not meaningfully intend to become market society but has grown to market society. Social relations is the basis of market society. Farmers would talk to eachother then trade for needs of survival not commodities. The historic economy was run on non-economic motives, no was going richness. Modern society it has turned into economic relations. Adult life, most of life is economic relations and not personal relations. Nearly everything has a price, almost all types of activities you have to pay for. Everything is getting commodified, capitalist think of ways to sell everything. Money used to a reminder of a social relation in trading, a way of trust. The great transformation is changing money into social relations. Entire society has come to exchange money for money. Labour and the organization of work changes from historic to modern production and exchange.
