The correlation between curragh and the media due to disaster and human tragedy. Why does justice richard describe westray as a predictable path to disaster : westray tragedy go beyond the horrible incident. It also disclosed other things, insufficient ventilation design failed to secure the methane levels. Poor mine layout forced the mineworkers to work through dangerous tunnels which lead to the work being damaged. The alarms that occurred interfered with the methane detectors, as it did not show any emergency precautions. Lack of proper safety and training precautions also contributed to the poor administration. Curragh operation"s policy only dealt with the instruction of getting the mine on progress by removing coal and selling it. The westray story lacks safety for the workers which lead to obvious disaster. Precautions were not takes as they should have been. Methanometer is an instrument that measures methane gas from a mine as approved by the ventilation regulations.
