People are born into anomy, with a disconnection from everything with no support. Each of us occupies a series of roles (ex. *these must be integrated into nomos through internalization. Religion is the most powerful way to justify and fortify the nomos because it"s humanly constructed and fallible. How a fire on the subway paralyzes the city. Religion anchors and fortifies the nomos, making links through the cosmos and nomos. *likeness with cosmos/ god"s world and humanly nomos= cosmization. Cosmization= aligning with human law and god"s law . Every society/ culture has its own versions of what human nature is. *what appears at historical moments/periods as human nature is itself a product of man"s nature building ability. To be separated from society exposes the individual to multiple dangers. It is emotionally, psychologically, and physically impossible to survive in separations. *there is a danger of meaninglessness, which is the most important threat.
