Shift from rural society to urban society, depend on neighbours for support, assistance, fun, transportation, etc. characteristics of a rural setting when it comes to resources: specific, economic base could be specific to that sector/product produced. Health and formal resources, eg doctor, education, are scarcer and less available. As demographic shifts to urban settings, primary resource (neighbours) not as accessible. Community psychology suggests that community cohesion is very important for wellness. Scarcity of resources becomes more apparent in move to urban society. Types of medical resources available were more accessible for those who were well off, not available to those in poverty.
