2012: since 2009 students use a patient care process as defined by cipolle, strand and morley. Why introduce a patient care process: students need a systematic process to assess patient"s drug and disease information to: Identify drug therapy problems: develop care plans to address drug therapy problems, develop and implement a follow up evaluation, goals: Introduce a new structured and systematic framework of patient care process similar to other professions with standardized terminology and solidify critical thinking: speak the same language as other professions, solidify critical thinking skills. Part 2: assessment: step 1: develop a therapeutic relationship with the patient in order to elicit relevant information. Determine who your patient is as an individual by learning about the reason for the encounter, the patient"s demographic, medication experience and other clinical information. Use head to toe approach, we look at vital signs, eyes, ears, throat, nose, cardiovascular, pulmonary, liver and kidney function: step 3: pharmacotherapy work-up.
