Lecture #2 ch. 1: why research? (sep 14th, 2017) Experiment (last class: the idea behind the study was that ego depletion of active self as of limited resource, non chocolate eaters have limited resources and restrain from chocolate and doing the task. The hypothesis is that you need to give up faster: result: the data shows that those who ate the chocolate persisted longer on the task. Other potential variable for this result: physiological response to sugar intake, random chance, motivation (what if people do not like chocolate: moral: do(cid:374)"t take the resear(cid:272)h as if all there is. The process of scientific thinking: makes you to critical thinking in terms of evaluating claims and drawing conclusions based on evidence; analyzing the data and presenting in clear fashion. And not to take things at face value.
