Siegler came along, interested in different types of problem-solving. Developed the overlapping waves theory to address issues of problem-solving, but may explain development as a whole. Trying to understand cognitive development from the perspective of understanding the psychological components (and their development) necessary for the processing of information. Includes attention, perception, and memory: today will focus on memory. Information from the world enters the system and flows through a number of processes before ending as a response to the world.
