PSYC 2030 Lecture 5: PSYC 2030 class 5
Document Summary
Factorial designs tells you that there are 2 or more independent variables it needs to be tested if there are main effects or interactions and develop an f test. The easiest way to determine an interaction is to plot the graph and if they are not parallel is an interaction effect. It occurs when the mean for the two conditions is near the maximum and it can give the impression that no difference exists between conditions that is they are close to maximum performance. Floor effects is when anticipating performance to decrease. They are already doing poorly that they couldn(cid:495)t do any worse. If concerned about ceiling or floor effect one should do the experiment over again and increase the words that there is a capability of a potential increase. This means that both of the independent variables are between subject variables. Means that all of the subjects will be tested under all of the different conditions.
