When summarizing, you have to understand the meaning of the passage and then put it in your own words: paraphrasing is restating an idea or some document in your own words, you"re repeating what has already been said. Summarizing: you"re condensing the idea: how do you write a successful paraphrase, read the passage completely. Make sure you understand the meaning and the main point expressed. If you don"t know a word or a phrase, you look them up: you take notes and list what you have to include, rewrite in your own words, editing. Check spelling: what is plagiarism, taking someone else"s work and handing it as yours.
