Document Summary
Memory / cognitive perspective (modules :24, 25, 26) Cognitive perspective is an off shoot from behavioural perspective. Behavioural perspective concentrates on overt behaviour, stresses s >r relationship stimulus, Response relationship argues that these are stamped in. Stimulus (s) > organism (o) > response (r) Cognition refers to thinking processes and mental processes. steps include evaluating, interpreting, predicting and expecting. Insight is the sudden understanding of how to solve a problem as a result of re- organizing the problem. Stimulus -> memory -> response , this is how memory is related to the two. by using our memory we can decide on a proper response to the stimulus. Memory: is the learning that has persisted over time. (its has been encoded, stored & retrieved) Recall is retrieving information that is not currently in your conscious mind. Re-learning is learning something you have already learned but quicker. Input - processing - output ( computer analogy )
