To some extent conservatism is an ideology which bares the stamp of feudal. And the ideas that we see as ideas of traditional conservatism. Traditional bears stamp of aristocrat society and the imprint of the values of feudal europe. Liberalism takes on the values, the views, the philosophical underpinning that social order. This period 17th-18th century liberalism is a revolutionary ideology. We get 18th century notions of perfectibility from liberalism. The notion that human beings are born as a kind of blank slate and that you can mould them for good or ill.
