Aristotelians(arastoo): 4 elements came to existence in earth alone and a 5th element called ether made up the heavens, as a result, life could not exist in other places. Aristotle (384-322 bc) championed the opposing view of democritus and believed earth unique. Our mathematical and scientific heritage originated with the civilizations of the middle east.
