Through a year earth spinning around the sun and change it position in sky, as a result, we have different views and we see nearby stars in different positions. If you can detect this you can proof that earth spin around the sun. Long time ago, greeks was also argue about the possibility of life beyond earth because the answer was important both philosophically and religiously. Atomists(atamist) : infinite numbers of particles of 4 elements made up the universe, as a result, life could exist in other places. Democritus (460-370 bc) believed that many other planets like earth exist because earth is not unique. Aristotelians(arastoo): 4 elements came to existence in earth alone and a 5th element called ether made up the heavens, as a result, life could not exist in other places. Aristotle (384-322 bc) championed the opposing view of democritus and believed earth unique. Our mathematical and scientific heritage originated with the civilizations of the middle east.
