Understanding planets in our solar system and then applied in other places. Life on earth is very flexible, tough and can overcome very harsh and inhospitable environmental conditions. Life appeared early in earth"s history 500 million after planet"s formation. A habitable world is defined to be one that has surface conditions similar to earth"s and thus suitable for life. Evidences that proof biology may be common in the universe include: Life appeared early in the history of the earth. Earth life can survive under a wide range of conditions. Energy or source of heat (not necessarily solar) Earth is most hospitable by now in our solar system.
