Summer of 1609, galileo was inventing his own version of telescope. Two glass at precise angel (distance?) helps see things at a distance. 8 times of what naked eyes can see. Galileo used telescope to look outside the earth. Galileo: physics experiments: dropping a heavy and light ball, aristotle would predict the heavy ball lads first. Do experiment rolling a ball down a hill, uneven surface- motion could be disrupted. Made artificial environment (important step in history of science) Measure: how long it takes for ball to roll to bottom. There was a relation between the time and the distance the ball moved, was related by the squares of numbers and not the inclination. Was put on house arrest due to publishing his second book; church charged him on hearsay. His science based on observations of nature, and their support for models/ theory, Not some sort of ideology (like ancient greeks)
