Whether people are healthy or not, is determined by the circumstances and environment . To a large extent, factors such as: where we live, the state of our environment, our relationship with friends and families. Victim blaming: sometimes the context of people"s lives determine their health e. g. blaming the parents for letting kids play in junk yard (jason"s story) there are circumstances that people cannot control. Gender (women live longer than men, women visit the doctor more often, men brush off symptoms, stigma of seeking help) 1974: the lalonde report on the health of canadians set the stage by establishing a framework for the key factors that seemed to determine health.
