Than he was a block party dj he went by kool dj kurt (maybe) He was a program director at the radio he didn"t even know he was going to be an mc at the time. Kurtis blow when there was rappers looking for role models, inspiration, rappers who were not out yet, weren"t any rap records in the store. Only a handful of people they could look at and being inspired by : kurtis blow was one of this people. Kurtis blow is considered to be the 6th mc, sometimes he would perform with grandmaster. Flash and would be introduced as the 6th mc. The first significant rap record on the radio was by kurtis blow.
