There may be an increase in physical abuse because the elders are getting more dementia and people cant deal with that which leads to physical violence: income. Many elderly live with less than 12k a year; mostly women. They rely on the government for support; fixed income. Housing is increasing; people are building houses which increases the property taxes which is hard for seniors who are on a fixed income. Upkeep of the house; they need extra money to replace and fix the house. Insurance is expensive so many old people don"t have insurance on their home. Many of them keep their home cold in the winter because they cant afford paying those bills. Many of them live on a month after paying off everything else.
