Play is structured as leisure, sport and instrumental to health through adult policy frameworks. Emphasis on organized sport and health, which does not account for pleasurable aspects to play as well as child and youth perspectives of play and activity. Important to explore and gain insights into perspectives and experiences of youth participants which are often neglected in broader policy-based initiatives (wellard, 2007, p. 3). Recruited through summer camps, flyers posted at schools and community centres in toronto: qualitative interviews (n= 29 youth), 6-18 years old and their parent(s). Photo-voice methods (showing and telling, body language, photos etc. ) Follow-up interviews, transcribing and coding emerging themes from data collection. I was trying to do the bridge and i hit my head a lotit hurts, but i did it, and i essentially got it! I also have to do the split, and it hurts but eventually i got it and now i can do the split too!
