National security and human rights: liberty versus security. Thomas hobbes: politically speaking, in terms of everyday life, most people are willing to trade liberty for security, as politics runs on fear: they are most successful when they are grounded in fear. Constitution and is inherently unconstitutional: there is no official religion: free movement of people: that in itself is a reason for the questioning of this ban. Some statistics claim that one"s chances of being a victim of terrorism in the us is 3 billion: 1. No matter what the unlikely nature of suffering from a terrorist attack, there are people, often in the most unlikely places, who believe that they will be a victim of a terrorist attack. Their chances of being a victim of a terrorist attack is astronomically slim, which is enough to garner enough support regarding this issue. Fear, regardless of the reality of that fear, is powerful.
