The seventh lecture was all about the features and formats of personal health records and identifying electronic tools for patient to physician communication. Professor el-morr focused on the origin of consumer health informatics and outlined consumer health informatics (chi) tools and barriers that exist. One key concept which holds the consumer health informatics process together is the chi interrelationships. The five links which are the consumer, device, method, application and contact contribute to how we receive and view anything related to our personal health record. Hence, consumers interact directly with the healthcare system online in order to receive their electronic health record. One idea that i found interesting was the concept of social media.
