Joseph rudolf mengele is commonly referred to the angel of death. He was a german ss officer a physician in the nazi concentration camps of. Auschwitz-birkenau. as and: mengele"s job in the nazi concentration camps was to determine which individual was fit to live and who would be sent to death. This was due to the brutal nature that mengele carried out the experiments. The experiments were purely done on the detainees of the world war, which meant that he would not be convicted for any brutality he committed to them. He committed murder under the disguise of scientific research . For example, some experiments involved separating pair of twins and torturing or even killing one, in the hope of having the other twin feel pain. Due to the danger of participating in these experiments, the subjects were forced against their will.
