Unep: united nations environment programme: provides leadership and encourages partnerships in caring for the environment, inspires, informs and enables nations to improve quality of life without compromising future generations. Climate warming, economic development and evolving cultural norms. Main emerging issues that have been identified by scientific experts are familiar to most educated lay people. Humans have begun to extrapolate consequences of some issues into the near future. Emerging issues are also intensified, widely extended, transformed or changes perceptions of familiar issues. Cascades: large scale dynamic changes that influence low-level processes: impacts of climate change/global climate warming. Puts pressure on water use, coastal zone management and soil erosion.
