The earth had been the ground for the human population as figure. Now, the planet has become figure and the satellite surround has become the new ground. The earth is emerging as a human work of art. Humans have an increasing power over part of the biosphere and can affect natural systems. Problems is something thrown in our path to solve; problem solving is essential to our technological way of life. Mystery is a problem that, as one beings to solve it, they can no longer pretend to stand asking from it and take a neutral stance (sex is a problem, love is a mystery) Smog, pollution, strip mining and chemical waste are all problems that can be solved with money, political will and engineering. Point source pollutants: place, people company, whatever, whoever were doing these things could be pointed and stopped. Non-point source problems: situations when the fingers are pointed at everyone; climate change, loss of species.
