- Amplifying effect
o Benefits: huge amplification (like bringing
together several waters)
Measuring Enzyme Activity
- During the process of a reaction, the concentration
of the substrate decreases and the concentration
of the product increases linearly.
- The rate at which the reaction proceeds is the
velocity of the reaction
- The more enzymes you have, the faster the
reaction is going to take place.
o Analogy: more machines = more products per
unit time
