Ws 100 - a: lecture: thursday, september 14th. The belief in the social, political and economic equality of men and women. Many people fear feminism or identifying as feminists because there is such a negative connotation attached to it . People either don"t understand what feminism is, or they do and they don"t believe in it or care. Feminism is a revolution, not a public relations movement. Racism is just another type of oppression in society. Many people think that race and gender are two separate issues that need to be dealt with separately. However, race and gender and inextricably linked and worsen experiences for some women in the modern world. By challenging race with the feminism movement, you break down all forms of oppression that individuals and women face in society today. Porn industry is a multibillion dollar industry, that literally portrays women as sex slaves to men.
