Younger spouses are at a risk (20-21) maybe not emotionally mature enough. Brief courtship (2 or less years) are more likely to divorce (maybe due to unplanned pregnancy) Textbook low income, financial issues are a major source of marriage dissatisfaction (pressure on entire household and can lead to divorce) Two career households still can be low income family, also wife has to do double shift . Also if she is financially stable she can leave an unhappy marriage because she can support herself. Co-habitation overall common law unions are more likely to dissolve than marriages (typically shorter) if you live with them before marriage when you marry them then there is higher likely hood of getting divorce . counter intuitive!!!
