Changes in body, sensory, abilities and motor skills: cognitive. Thinking, problem-solving, perception, reasoning, memory, creativity, language: social/ emotional. Changes in one area allow changes in other areas to occur. The relationship between the three domains all intercept. Interdependent, integrative: vs. modular / segmented, within the field there are different ways to look at the way things work. Theory: orderly, integrated set of statements that describes, explains and predicts behavior, any questions about kids before the 18th century they did not have any formal explanations.
