Document Summary

Us is presented before the cs ends (overlap) Most frequently used and produces the best learning as cs is good predictor for us. Us doesn"t start until after the cs has ended. Gap of time between the cs and us is the trace interval. Less effective as cs becomes a better predictor of the trace interval than the us. Cs is presented for a long time before the us begins. Cs and us are presented at same time, start together and end together. Cs doesn"t predict us at all and is more of background noise. For eyeblink conditioning with rabbits, isi should be around 0. 4 seconds. With fear conditioning isi could be as much as 180 seconds and animals will still associate us and cs. With taste aversion, learning the cs can occur as much as 6 hours before the us.
