Maslow"s self actualization: sees other theorists as deficit based model. Deficiency based: what about seeking things for their own sake, self actualization, hierarchy of needs. Regression if lower needs are not met. Pros: importance of subjective views, development of the idea of self concept, optimistic growth and health oriented approach paved way for positive psychology.
