Populism is a kind of sentiment and ideology that separates society in two parts- pure people and corrupt elite and argues that he/she are protecting people. There will be certain negative effects on canada because of trumps election in the usa. One is the effect of his protectionist policies. The rise of populism could be attributed to several things. We also see the development of the notion of the 1% v. 99%. As a result of the emergence of a new global economy, traditional political parties merged.
