Class 14: golden age iv stede bonnet. Came from a long line of barbadian setlers. He was born into a very well healed family in barbados. In 1709, he married mary allenby and his irst child died. They had more children ater that, the death of the child seemed to cause a rupture. Bonnet went into a depression, and served a mental illness ater the death of the child. C. 1716: pirates were acive in the west indies. Pirate threat: 1716: decided to become a pirate, revenge (60 ton ship, 10 cannon, 70 men) June of 1717, he was successful of the coast of virginia. 12 cannon, 250 men: bonnet invites thomas knight & his crew, then he didn"t want to, then bonnet insisted he come on, bonnet invited him to dinner, and insisted he stayed, or there would be a threat. Nov. 17. 1717, queen anne"s revenge: knight is let on board, and asks to go to shore.
